Whipsnade Zoo Hosts Chocolate Fountain Hire!

Whipsnade Zoo Hosts Chocolate Fountain Hire!

Ashley and Mark got married at Whipsnade Zoo on a beautiful Saturday in June and asked the Chocolate fountain hire team to provide a fountain for their evening reception. We were of course delighted! When I arrived at the venue, I was very surprised to see 2 kangaroos hoping around, loose!

The theme of the wedding was black and white and the room was decked out in zebra print, including all of the table cloths! I was asked to wear an apron with zebras on the front, which I was happy to do.

After I had set out the dipping selection, including delicious fresh mango, beautiful British strawberries, fresh tangy pineapple, and an assortment of baked items and confectionery including pink and white fluffy marshmallows, vanilla fudge pieces and scrummy chocolate brownies! We provide an unlimited variety of dipping items meaning you can choose as many different items from our list as you would like!

The bride and groom came over and had their photos taken. I was the only catering at the reception, and I was kept busy all evening, topping up dips, mopping up spills, and wiping children’s faces! It was a great evening!

LVS Celebrate The Queens Jubilee The Chocolate Way

LVS Celebrate The Queens Jubilee The Chocolate Way.

Here at the the chocolate fountain hire team we love a good party, and what could be better than a ‘street’ party!  LVS Junior School were getting into the spirit of The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations by having a street party on their playing fields, followed by chocolate fountain for pudding! It was great! The children were all dressed in mufti and some had flags and union jack hats, and union jack tee-shirts and even face paints! They all looked wonderfully patriotic!

The children all sat in rows of chairs on long tables eating triangle sandwiches with the crusts cut off and drinking pop, then it was time for the main event, the chocolate! We set up two chocolate fountains in the schools hall, a little apart from each other, and decorated the table with bunting. The children were allowed in by the classroom  and they helped themselves to one goodie on a stick, dunked it in the warm chocolate, then took it outside to eat.

The sugar coated donuts were particularly good today, and they were the most popular item, followed closely by scrummy chocolate brownies. The luscious fresh strawberries, pineapple and grapes were only eaten by the grown ups!  After every child had had about 3 or 4 or maybe 5 dips each, and were all smothered in Chocolate on hands, faces and clothes, the Head Teacher said that was enough and the children went back out to play and enjoy the sun. The Chocolate Fountain Team really enjoyed getting into the spirit of the long weekend, bring on the Bank Holidays. We were really impressed with the good behaviour from the children and such a well organised day for everyone!

Candy Floss and Pink fountain as sweet dessert

Candy Floss and Pink fountain as sweet dessert

All things pink was the order of the day at a recent booking. We were asked to take our chocolate fountain and candy floss to Chigwell in Essex to help celebrate  a girls third birthday party. We arrived and set up in a marquee before the guests arrived so everything would look elegant for the start of the party celebrations. There was a pink bouncy castle, teacup rides on the front drive, a DJ, balloon modeller, and of course us to keep everyone entertained. Lunch was served first and then guests started  to tuck  into our chocolate fountain and candy floss. We were asked to provide a pink chocolate fountain which is possible by using white chocolate and food colouring to bring out the desired colour – this was certainly a talking point.

Fruit was the most popular dip of the day with guests tucking into our fresh English strawberries and covering them in pink chocolate before eating them. Along side our chocolate fountain was the candy floss machine where we made fresh candy floss on sticks for guests to eat. Making the candy floss captivated an audience on many occasions during the day. The afternoon seemed to pass in a flash and in no time at all we were packing up and heading home after another fun birthday party.

Thank you to the Olympic Volunteers from Network Rail!

Thank you to the Olympic Volunteers from Network Rail!

Here at Chocolate Fountain Hire, we were very excited to be asked to provide a chocolate fountain at three very special events. The events were to thank the Olympic Volunteers who so ably directed visitors around the train network to get to the Olympic events. When Network Rail were first tasked with the job of getting the visitors around the various sites and stadiums for the 14 days of the games, their motto was ‘sport not transport’ basically saying they wanted newspaper headlines to be about the excellent sporting achievements and not transport problems. They succeeded! The plan for the evening was for the guests to arrive at between 5pm and 5.30pm and to chat, have drinks and canapés. Then the highlight of the evening and introduction by the brilliant Alex Broker, who was also a presenter of the Channel 4’s The Last Leg. He did a question and answer session with an Olympian athlete and Had the audience rolling around with laughter!!! One the first night we had Laura Trott who won 2 gold medals.

Both Mat and Louise queued up to get pictures! The medals are surprising large and heavy! On the second evening we had Jody Cundy, the Para Olympian infamously disqualified 1km time trial, but still proudly displaying his bronze, and on the third evening we saw Louis Smith and his silver medal from the men’s pommel horse final. It was a great three days and the chocolate was enjoyed very much by all of the guests. A roaming photographer captured moments for the audience  to treasure! This was one of the occasions though when the chocolate fountain team was honored to be part of something as fantastic as the Olympic Games.

Chocolate Fountain for Matts 40th Birthday with Saxophone Surprise

Chocolate Fountain for Matts 40th Birthday with Saxophone Surprise

On a lovely Saturday the chocolate fountain hire team travelled to Redhill in Surrey to celebrate the 40th Birthday of Matt! We arrived before the guests to set the fountain up and leaned that we were not the only surprise for the guests that evening! The birthday boys brother was part of an amazing double act “Duelling Pianos” and one of Matt’s life time goals was to perform on stage with his brother. So for the last 6 months he had been secretly learning the Saxophone and chose his birthday party as the perfect opportunity to reveal his surprise performance! The guests enjoyed a delicious buffet of cheese and pates and tucked into the fountain for desert!

Popular dip choices were strawberries, profiteroles and chocolate brownies all drenched in the aromatic Belgian milk chocolate. The night drew on and the guests attentions turned from the chocolate to the amazing performance of “Duelling Piano’s” as we packed up and left the party was going strong and the guests danced into the early hours!

Chocolate and Fruit provide the perfect wedding desert for Dorothy and George

The Beautiful Wedding of Dorothy and George On a gorgeous day at the end of May the ChocolateFountain Team headed for Edgware,  London for the wedding reception of Dorothy and her new husband George. Dorothy had ordered a chocolate fountain and two fruit palm trees for that extra WOW effect. She certainly got it! I set the two palm trees either side of the fountain and after I had put in the real palm leaves and decorated the base with pineapple head they looked really great. I used two different types of melon, red water melon and orange cantaloupe melon, along with kiwi strawberries, pineapple and clementines. The colour theme for the wedding was purple and yellow , and it looked stunning! The evening was great fun with lots of dancing and laughter and good food and best of all, good chocolate!

15th Birthday Party at Canary Warf

This weekend Chocolate fountain hire  were asked back to the Four Seasons in London to provide a Milk Chocolate fountain and a pick n mix stand for Laura’s 15th Birthday Party being held in The River Room. Earlier in the year we had set up in the same room for Laura’s sister Sweet 16th birthday party, and it was great to be asked again for Laura’s Party. The whole family are so friendly and polite, it is a joy to come back. The Pick and Mix Sweet  stand was a great success with the young guests who had all come upstairs to enjoy a movie. The chocolate fountain had a lot of use as well, with the girls piling fresh fruit onto their sticks and putting into the creamy smooth warm chocolate.

Guests go for healthy option at Christening Party

The chocolate fountain team were asked to provide a large fruit palm tree for a christening party East London. We were at  Bryant Street Methodist Church in Stratford which at the very heart of the Olympics to be held in a few months. We arrived to set up early well before the  party began and found a prominent place to position the Fruit Palm Tree. The large fruit or candy palm tree contains approximately 500 pieces of fruit or candy and stands 4 ft tall, but when the real palm leaves are added to the top, it stands an impressive 7 ft! It was a Caribbean event and the fruit tree fitted in beautifully! There was lots of lovely food, and a live group and a beautiful cake!

Wedding at The British Medical Association in London

Wedding at The British Medical Association in London

The setting for Charlotte and Ryan’s wedding reception was the BMA in Tavistock Square in London. As we pulled up outside the beautiful buildings we could see the guests walking from the church 100 metres away where the couple ad got married, so we knew we were in the right place! The room we set up in was stunning, wonderful high ceilings and gilding. We unloaded and set up the fountain while the guests were having drinks in the reception area, and then left the building while the bride and groom and their guests entered the room, and sat down at their tables for speeches and their dinner. The chocolate fountain was to be the desert for the wedding breakfast, and thus, they did not want it being set up while they were eating! This is something that is occasionally requested and we always try to accommodate when possible. The chocolate fountain was a huge success with guests coming back for seconds and thirds of the creamy warm Belgian chocolate!
